aws iot create-custom-metric

Use this API to define a Custom Metric published by your devices to Device Defender

Options

NameDescription
--metric-name <string>The name of the custom metric. This will be used in the metric report submitted from the device/thing. Shouldn't begin with aws:. Cannot be updated once defined
--display-name <string>Field represents a friendly name in the console for the custom metric; it doesn't have to be unique. Don't use this name as the metric identifier in the device metric report. Can be updated once defined
--metric-type <string>The type of the custom metric. Types include string-list, ip-address-list, number-list, and number
--tags <list>Metadata that can be used to manage the custom metric
--client-request-token <string>Each custom metric must have a unique client request token. If you try to create a new custom metric that already exists with a different token, an exception occurs. If you omit this value, AWS SDKs will automatically generate a unique client request
--cli-input-json <string>Performs service operation based on the JSON string provided. The JSON string follows the format provided by ``--generate-cli-skeleton``. If other arguments are provided on the command line, the CLI values will override the JSON-provided values. It is not possible to pass arbitrary binary values using a JSON-provided value as the string will be taken literally
--generate-cli-skeleton <string>Prints a JSON skeleton to standard output without sending an API request. If provided with no value or the value ``input``, prints a sample input JSON that can be used as an argument for ``--cli-input-json``. If provided with the value ``output``, it validates the command inputs and returns a sample output JSON for that command
