aws docdb failover-db-cluster

Forces a failover for a cluster. A failover for a cluster promotes one of the Amazon DocumentDB replicas (read-only instances) in the cluster to be the primary instance (the cluster writer). If the primary instance fails, Amazon DocumentDB automatically fails over to an Amazon DocumentDB replica, if one exists. You can force a failover when you want to simulate a failure of a primary instance for testing

Options

NameDescription
--db-cluster-identifier <string>A cluster identifier to force a failover for. This parameter is not case sensitive. Constraints: Must match the identifier of an existing DBCluster
--target-db-instance-identifier <string>The name of the instance to promote to the primary instance. You must specify the instance identifier for an Amazon DocumentDB replica in the cluster. For example, mydbcluster-replica1
--cli-input-json <string>Performs service operation based on the JSON string provided. The JSON string follows the format provided by ``--generate-cli-skeleton``. If other arguments are provided on the command line, the CLI values will override the JSON-provided values. It is not possible to pass arbitrary binary values using a JSON-provided value as the string will be taken literally
--generate-cli-skeleton <string>Prints a JSON skeleton to standard output without sending an API request. If provided with no value or the value ``input``, prints a sample input JSON that can be used as an argument for ``--cli-input-json``. If provided with the value ``output``, it validates the command inputs and returns a sample output JSON for that command
